The Face Mask Lowdown
After struggling with 'bloggers block' for a month or two, I'm back with an honest lowdown on 6 face masks I've used lately. It can be hard to find a decent face mask that suits not just your skin type but your beauty budget too, so the ones im going to talk about are all purse friendly choices that won't break the bank. Hopefully this will help you if you've been looking for a new product to freshen up your skincare routine!

Makeup Brush Cleaning 101
Washing makeup brushes is a bit of a chore, but a completely necessary one. I always find that after cleaning my brushes, they apply makeup much smoother and feel so much nicer on my face and eyes. I found a quicker way of cleaning my brushes which I wanted to share with you, and its all thanks to a couple of cheap and cheerful mini face massage mitts, one from Soap & Glory at Boots, and a slightly larger one from good old primark. Here is my technique in a little pictorial, which I'll summarise in 9 simple steps at the bottom of this post.

My Favourite Instagram Makeup & Nail Accounts
We all love getting a bit of insta inspiration every now and again, in terms of makeup and nail art. I have a few favourite accounts that I'd class as my go-to's when I want ideas or just to browse through gorgeous makeup and nail pictures. All of the people I'm going to share with you are incredibly talented and my personal favourites.

Things I'd tell my younger self about makeup & beauty
I often think about this topic when applying makeup, looking at old pictures from my early teens or giving my younger sister makeup tips. Experimenting with makeup is a huge part of growing up, and I think making mistakes helps you to learn what looks good on you and what doesn't.

Swatches & Review: Makeup Revolution Ultimate Pro Contour Palette
I have dabbled with contouring products before but I've never really found one that suits my skin type, is easy to apply and blend, and is actually within my budget! I decided to buy the new contouring palette from Makeup Revolution while I was looking through the new products page on their website.

Makeup Revolution New-Trals VS Neutrals Palette Swatches
Following my last post about my Makeup Revolution haul, I thought I'd start off my swatching sessions with their new 'New-Trals VS Neutrals' eyeshadow palette. They all compliment each other so beautiully, and you can create natural looks for daytime as well as bolder looks for evenings, using just this one palette!
Here are my swatches, top row first then bottom row. I have put the name of each shade on the pictures for reference :)

Brow Update
So in one of my first posts, I spoke about my eyebrows and how I was going to try and correct years of over plucking with castor oil, as advised by a threading therapist... well, its worked!
I finally grew back enough to get them threaded.

Body Scrubs
I though I'd post about something a little different from beauty and makeup today... body scrubs! I have tried lots of different scrubs, which I've either brought myself or been given as part of a gift for birthdays or Christmas. There are two that have really stood out to me and that I've purchased regularly since first trying them.

Handy Nail Tips and Tricks
For ages, I've kept a little folder with beauty tips and tricks I've heard or seen. I also picked up some valuable jewels of information when I trained as a nail technician. So I thought that I'd share some of them with you :) I'll do more posts with skin, beauty and hair tips, but I thought it was only right to start with nails as that's my forté.

My Haircare Routine Part 2
As promised, here is part 2 of my haircare routine...
I am a huge advocate of using heat protection sprays. Any sort of heat styling isn't at all good for your hair, especially things like straighteners which are often set at high temperatures, so using a product that helps counteract the damage they can cause is a must! I spritz some heat protect on my hair while its still damp before drying it, and sometimes I'll add a bit more to the ends if I straighten or curl my hair.

My Haircare Routine Part 1
So as I've told you my nightly beauty routine, I thought I'd share my haircare routine with you guys too. I have quite long, thick hair that is naturally quite curly so my hairdryer is my best friend!
I start off by washing my hair with Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer shampoo nd conditioner. I like to leave the conditioner on my hair for about 10 minutes as I find my hair is less frizzy and much easier to blow dry.

My Nightly Beauty Routine
A few years ago, I didn't really have a night time beauty routine. I used to just remove my makeup and moisturise if I felt like it. But when I hit 20, I decided that I should probably take a little bit more care of my skin. I didn't have very good skin as a teenager and always felt really insecure, like many teens, about spots, oily skin and large pores.
